In recent years, The Strip has been aggressively redeveloped to make room for more housing. Some say it’s lost some of it’s original charm, but it continues to be a hotspot for locals and students alike.

    Parking is usually free downtown on nights and weekends, but you’ll have to pay in public garages during the day or at parking meters. The city uses ParkMobile app for meters. There are also numerous private lots downtown.

    Parking at the University of Tennessee is generally not free, however, there are some exceptions. For example, parking garage G16 is free for baseball games and the Ag Campus has free parking for basketball games with shuttle service to the Thompson-Bowling Arena.
